How is rubber flooring conductive?
There are two methods of producting static control rubber flooring:
- Chemical Additives: One method requires changing the chemistry of the rubber compound through the use of chemical additives. Chemical additives enable rubber to become static dissipative.
- Carbon Chip Technology: The second method requires mixing carbon chips into the rubber with other colored chips. Carbon is conductive. The carbon chips form an electrically conductive matrix allowing static electricity to flow through the rubber to ground.
