About ESD Rubber Tile

The highest quality resilient flooring solution, StaticWorx ESD rubber meets all of the recommended parameters of ANSI/ESD S.20.20. Like static control carpet, the walking body voltage properties of ESD rubber tile are low, so a rubber that measures in the dissipative range can be every bit as effective as an extremely conductive vinyl. Additionally, ESD rubber, viewed by experts as a highly desirable walking surface, not only performs with grounded footwear, but is highly effective at preventing static in areas where grounded footwear is not or cannot be used—places such as command centers, computer labs, MRI areas, Biomedical Facilities and flight towers.

Easy to Clean and Maintain
Our ESD Rubber Tile feaures StainBlock technology, which prevents soiling, ensures an easily cleaned surface and makes the flooring look new longer. After a two year study, Lucent Technologies found ESD Rubber to be the easiest ESD surface to care for. To view the report, click here. Rubber can be washed with neutral cleaners mixed with water. Finishes and buffing are unnecessary.

Low Total Cost of Ownership
Though its installed cost is higher than some flooring options, the total cost of ownership for rubber is low because it is durable and inexpensive to maintain, making it a good choice for companies concerned with the long-term implications of their investment.

The conductive version of our ESD Rubber tile has carbon contact points commonly associated with ESD vinyl, with the attractive patterns of a more decorative floor tile. Ergonomically, rubber is a better anti-fatigue floor than either ESD epoxy or ESD vinyl. Like ESD carpet, rubber dampens noise from rolling carts and automatic equipment.

Low Body Voltage Generation
Two totally different properties that are key considerations when evaluating and selecting ESD Flooring is the ability of the ESD flooring to inhibit charges generation AND dissipate any accumulated charge with an acceptable decay time. An ESD floor with low body voltage generation properties minimizes the charge created by movement of people and equipment. Our ESD Rubber Tile does just that, and if you generate less charge, that's less charge that you have to dissipate- which puts you ahead of the game.

Extremely Low Outgassing
All tests were performed by an independent test lab according to ASTM E-595. The test method utilizes a screening technique to determine the Volatile Content of Materials (VCM) when exposed to a vacuum environment. Three parameters are measured: total mass loss (TML), collected volatile condensable materials (CVCM), and the amount of water vapor regained (WVG). The CVCM parameters are one of the best indicators for comparing the outgassing properties of various ESD floor covering. The presence of plasticizers significantly elevates CVCM results. Our ESD Rubber tile flooring has extremely low outgassing. This is due to the fact that our rubber flooring contains no volatile plasticizers. Additional benefits with using ESD Rubber tile floor covering with no plasticizers include:
> Dimensional Stability – our ESD Rubber Tile flooring is not prone to shrinking due to its vinyl plasticizer-free composition.
> Better Chemical and Stain Resistance — all our rubber floors are free of PVC and have extremely dense surfaces which provides floors that are easy and inexpensive to maintain.

ESD Rubber tile also offers good acoustic performance

In a comparative study the influence of different floorcoverings on the acoustic situation in a model office has been investigated.

Result: If the room has an adequately chosen acoustic ceiling the acoustic conditions that rubber floorcoverings and textile coverings provide are quite similar.

Two properties that can influence the acoustic behaviour of a building:

Building Acoustics: Impact sound
StaticWorx ESD Rubber floorcoverings reach a reduction of impact sound of up to 20 dB comparable to textile coverings.

Room Acoustics: Sound absorption
The reverberation time of a room should comply with the size and main usage of the room. Guidelines (for example DIN 18 041) for different rooms suggest a certain range for the frequency-dependent reverberation time (see plot on the right).
